The new orders are for a Mulder 75 Wheelhouse and a Mulder Favorite 1300 Convertible, both to be built in aluminium. The latter will represent the first convertible version in the Favorite range, which Mulder Shipyard reintroduced into the market in early 2011. The Mulder 75 Wheelhouse is the prototype for a new model in the Wheelhouse range, with various redeveloped and streamlined aspects. Although the yacht is being built for a customer from the UK, her berth will be in north-eastern USA.

Construction underway of new Mulder yard

20.10.2011

Mulder Shipyard’s managing director Dick Mulder has laid the first foundations of a brand-new facility in the Netherlands, twenty minutes south of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The special ceremony marked the end of several years of planning on a multi-million-euro investment situated ten kilometres from the current Mulder facility.

This state-of-the-art yard will cover an area of 7000 square metres and be focused on the maintenance, refit and new build of yachts between 18 and 40 metres. Due to open in 2012, the first new yacht out of Mulder’s impressive order portfolio will be launched there in 2013. The existing facilities will also remain open and be dedicated to yachts under 18 metres.

The first hall of the new yard will be equipped with two dry docks of 55m x 13m, while the second will allow for four yachts up to 30 metres in length to be simultaneously constructed. There will also be a 100-tonne boat lift and a modern office building.

“Although this expansion involves a major investment, we are sure that it will eventually lead to major cost synergies,” says Dick Mulder. “As well as new builds and refits, our new yard will also provide services to the growing Mulder fleet. And our current location will then be able to fully focus on the construction of the Mulder Favorite and Bellagio semi-custom series, which are proving to be very popular among a section of our client base.”

Mulder Shipyard has started the construction of Bellagio ..

07.07.2011
Bellagio Yachts in the Netherlands has made considerable progress on Bellagio over the past months together with Vripack and Mulder Shipyard. Mulder started building the yacht a few weeks ago, with work currently proceeding on the aluminium hull.

Bellagio is being constructed under the label ‘built by Mulder’. This offers clients the possibility to contract the expertise of Mulder Shipyard for realising a dream yacht based on designs of their own. Naturally, the design of all such boats is required to fit in with the appearance and quality demands of Mulder Shipyard.

“We have selected the main elements of Bellagio very carefully,” Pim Dijksman from the Vripack Design Studio says. “The yacht has a tremendously long foreship and a small and low sporty wheelhouse with an elegantly sloping stern. When coming up with this design we found inspiration in the early sports cars that were developed in the interwar period.”
